Nintendo Wii came out on Sunday and New Yorkers lined the streets outside their favorite stores for hours, even days before its release.
One reader waited outside the Target on 225th St in the freezing cold at 5am to be number 52 in line for a store that had only 120 systems. According to this reader,
“The number one person was there at 1am. It was a mix between teenagers, a few parents, and a lot of Nintendo fans. Everyone on line was going to use the console, not resell it on ebay.”
But was the wait worth the giant geek party?
“The graphics are worse [than Playstation 3]. The controller is what’s awesome.”
Other readers have described it as “amazing” and “glorious.” What do you think? We’re not big video game players over at STARKED NYC (in fact, the extent of our experience would be all of “Super Mario Bros 3″ on Gameboy, “Twisted Metal 2″ on Playstation and “Mario Kart” on Nintendo 64.)
