weekend edition:Goodbye Danza and Good Riddance
What is the recipe for a shit sandwich? Take two shows that are good and insert a show in between them that is so utterly bad, it’s unwatchable. Rinse and repeat. The original shit sandwich timeslot is in the middle of “Must See TV” on NBC. The shit sandwich on NBC “Must See TV” has included such gems as Caroline in the City, Suddenly Susan, Jesse, Stark Raving Mad, The Single Guy, The Naked Truth, Veronica’s Closet and most recently, Joey, the worst show of all time. The shit sandwich timeslot is cursed, and whatever show goes into it is sure to go belly up right before you unplug your cable box and throw your tv into the East River while contemplating suing the network for intentional infliction of emotional distress. The second most notable shit sandwich timeslot is in between Regis and Kelly and the View. When Rosie O’Donnel left her popular show, Caroline Rhea replaced her. That was such a disaster that they didn’t even put her on in many major markets. Then Wayne Brady Appeared. It was unwatchable. People literally threw tomatoes at their tv’s and got him off the air. Then, Tony Danza took Wayne’s place. Tony was a very likeable character on Who’s The Boss and Taxi. However, his daytime talkshow was just as bad as any other shit sandwich show. Now he’s getting cancelled too. Don’t think of this as Tony being axed; its more of a mercy killing. Put the show out of its misery.
