“Page Six” debacle rages on
“Page Six” still seems to be in hot water following the Jared Paul Stern/Ron Burkle scandal. Richard Johnson, try has he may, just cannot find a full-time reporter to replace the three freelancers he fired following the scandal. People are refusing to even interview for what once might have been a coveted spot. According to the Observer, here are a few boldface names that have declined the position.
1) WWD’s Jacob Bernstein and Elisa Lipsky-Karasz
2) W’s Marshall Heyman
3) Gawker co-editor Jessica Coen
4) Us Weekly blogger Noelle Hancock
5) Radar’s Christopher Tennant
In the very poetic words of one writer, “You don’t climb aboard a sinking ship.”
In our own poetic words, could the end be nigh for the once mighty column? Will we soon have a “NY Post” gossip section taken up entirely by the bumbling- and by bumbling of course we mean relevant- Cindy Adams? For our sakes, let’s hope not.
