Madonna Says NYC “Doesn’t Feel Alive” Anymore
Uh-oh! Madonna just insulted New York City! In an interview in the upcoming Vanity Fair, she’s got this to say:
“[New York City is] not the same place it used to be. It still has great energy. I still put my finger in the socket. But it doesn’t feel alive, cracking with that synergy between the art world and music world and fashion world that was happening in the ’80s.”
New York City still feels alive and has synergy, thank you very much. We think she’s just confusing “feeling alive” with doing a lot of cocaine.[Source]

I don’t think Madonna should qualify her statement in any way. New York is DEAD compared to what it was in the 80s. It is now just an outside shopping mall where the only value to people is in direct proportion to their bank account. Culture has been suffocated out. Sad.
